Artwork Submission FAQs

Edited
  • I have a PNG of my logo, but it looks fine on my computer. Can’t you just use it?

    Solution:

    • Even if it looks sharp on your screen, PNGs are raster images, which can blur or pixelate when printed or enlarged.

    • Please provide a vector version (AI, EPS, PDF) if possible.

    • Most suppliers and decorators require vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) for production.

    • If a vector version isn’t available, ensure the PNG is 300 DPI at the final print size.

  • I exported my design from Canva. Can we use it?

    Solution:

    • Canva exports are usually low-resolution or raster-based (JPG/PNG), which may not print well.

    • Most suppliers and decorators require vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) for production.

    • Check the resolution is 300 DPI at the final size.

    • Vector files or higher-resolution exports from design software are preferred.

    • If the file isn’t suitable, our team can try to recreate a similar design for print.

  • I want to change the size of a design after it’s already created. Can you just stretch it?

    Solution:

    • Resizing artwork can distort layout, text, or images.

    • Designs should always be submitted at final dimensions.

    • If resizing is required, we will need the full editable working files, text files and image files, and it may need recreating or adjusting elements, which takes additional time.

  • I only have screenshots of my branding assets. Can you work with them?

    Solution:

    • Screenshots are low-resolution and cannot be printed at high quality.

    • Most suppliers and decorators require vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) for production.

    • Please provide original files—vector logos, font files, and high-resolution images.

  • I have multiple versions of my logo and color palettes. Which one should I send?

    Solution:

    • Provide the latest approved branding files and the corresponding color guide.

    • Include all versions if necessary, but clearly label the primary or preferred version. This ensures our team uses the correct logo and colors in all projects.

  • I sent my AI-generated artwork, but it looks fine on my screen—why can’t it be printed?

    Solution:

    • AI-generated images often look sharper on screens than they will in print.

    • They must meet all file type and resolution requirements (vector preferred, 300 DPI for raster).

    • Most suppliers and decorators require vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) for production.

    • Low-resolution AI images cannot be improved by our team and must be regenerated to ensure print quality.

  • My brand guide is huge and password-protected. Can’t you just work around it?

    Solution:

    • Our team needs access to fonts, logos, and color info to ensure accurate design.

    • Provide the password or a PDF export with vector logos and fonts.

    • Without access, proofs and final designs may be delayed or inaccurate.

  • I only have a screenshot of my logo. Can you use that?

    Solution:

    • Screenshots are low-resolution and cannot be printed or scaled properly.

    • Most suppliers and decorators require vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) for production.

    • Please provide the original vector logo (AI, EPS, PDF) if available.

    • If not, the design team can recreate it, but it requires extra time and resources.

  • I forgot to include my font files. Can you still use my file?

    Solution:

    • Without font files, text may not display correctly in print or digital files.

    • Either provide the fonts (.otf, .ttf for print; .woff, .woff2 for digital) or convert all text to outlines before sending.

  • I don’t have all my assets yet. Can you start my project anyway?

    Solution:

    • We can start lookbooks or planning, but approved artwork files must be provided before creating other assets.

    • Missing logos, fonts, or color guides should be submitted as soon as possible to avoid delays.

  • I have a low-resolution image I really like. Can you make it work?

    Solution:

    • Low-resolution images cannot be improved for print.

    • We can try to create a similar image for high-quality output but this will require extra time, and the results will differ from the original art.

  • My design file opens fine on my computer, why can’t you use it?

    Solution:

    • Some files are specific to certain programs and may not be compatible with our software.

    • Always provide standard formats: AI, EPS, PDF for vector files, and high-res PNG/JPG for raster files.

  • I have an older version of a logo. Can we just use it?

    Solution:

    • Always provide the latest approved version of your branding.

    • Using outdated logos or colors can result in inconsistent branding across projects.

  • I have AI-generated artwork, but I’m not sure about copyright. Can I send it?

    Solution:

    • You can send AI-generated images, but you are responsible for copyright, trademarks, and legal rights.

    • Our team cannot verify or assume responsibility for intellectual property issues.

  • The design I’m sending is in PowerPoint. Will that work?

    Solution:

    • Files embedded in PowerPoint, Word, or Google Slides cannot be used for print.

    • Export the design as AI, EPS, PDF, or high-res PNG/JPG instead.

  • I don’t know if my file is high enough resolution. How can I check?

    Solution:

    • Images should be 300 DPI at the final print size.

    • You can check this in Photoshop or similar programs.

    • If you’re unsure, send it to your Brilliant team member, and they will send it to the design team to check.
