Gusto Application Setup
This guide assumes you have already communicated with Brilliant to set up a Gusto automation for your account.
In order to integrate your Gusto account with Brilliant, you must first set up your Gusto instance to send data to Brilliant via a custom report. After you set up Gusto, you can connect your Gusto account to Brilliant to automate gifting for new hires and employee anniversaries.
Create an Integration Admin User
Connect with Brilliant to get the correct email address for your solution and to provide us with an email address to add to the integration email group.
Follow Gusto’s Instructions to Create a Limited Admin under the ‘Add a collaborator from outside the organization and set up permissions (Limited or Global access)’ section with the following permissions:
View and edit personal info
Dismiss people
Reports
Team members
Confirm the email address and set up the login credentials for the Integration Admin User. Please store this information securely as you may want to update the report in the future.
Report Set Up
Sign in to the integration admin user account
Go to Reports
Select the option to build a new custom report
Select Employee Information for the Report Type
Ensure the report contains the following information
Employee Full Name
Employee ID
Employee Work Email
Employee State Date
Employee Type and Status
Apply any desired filters to the report. For example, if you’d like to filter by department or employee type for more targeted gifting.
Name your report and save it.
Run the report and ensure it contains the above information and the employees you expect.
Schedule the Report Send
Go to Reports
Find your report in your Report history tab
Select the action menu next to the report name and choose the option ‘Back to custom report’.
While viewing the report preview, select ‘Schedule’
Choose a delivery start date.
Select the option ‘Daily’ for frequency
Select CSV for the format
Select Schedule
